10 Awesome Fatalities Mortal Kombat 2 Needs To Include

10 Awesome Fatalities Mortal Kombat 2 Needs To Include

The upcoming Mortal Kombat 2 has a plethora of fatalities from the games to choose from, but it must include certain fatalities that didn’t appear in the first movie. Mortal Kombat achieved mixed reviews when it was released in 2021, but this version of the film is the most successful to date. The first movie version of Mortal Kombat came out in 1995, but only one more film was made after that, and it was a commercial and critical failure. The franchise has now been revitalized, however, and Mortal Kombat 2 needs to capitalize on that momentum.

One great way to do that is to bring in some of fans’ favorite fatalities from the video games. With modern special effects, it’s possible for Mortal Kombat to recreate virtually any of the video games’ iconic fatality moves. These moves are the most famous part of the Mortal Kombat games, so it’s important to choose the right ones. There are 10 specific fatality moves from the game that make excellent options, and at least a few of them need to be included in Mortal Kombat 2.

10 Cassie Cage’s Selfie Fatality

10 Awesome Fatalities Mortal Kombat 2 Needs To Include

The Cassie Cage Selfie Fatality is one of the best in the games, and it would fit perfectly into today’s selfie culture. It would also be an easy one for the film to reproduce since there’s nothing overly complicated about it. With this move, Cassie Cage smashes her opens jaw off their head, then grabs hold of them, takes a selfie, and posts it on a fictional social media platform. This feels like an obvious one to include in Mortal Kombat 2.

9 Sindel’s Scream Queen Fatality

Sindel's Scream Queen fatality in Mortal Kombat.

Queen Sindel has been confirmed as one of Mortal Kombat 2‘s new characters, which makes this the perfect opportunity to include her Scream Queen Fatality. This fatality involves Queen Sindel grabbing hold of her opponent, lifting them up in the air, and screaming with so much force that it blows their body to shreds. This would certainly make for a spectacle on screen, and it would be a good way of showing the audience how powerful Queen Sindel is.

8 Liu Kang’s Arcade Drop Fatality

Liu Kang's Arcade drop fatality in Mortal Kombat.

The Liu Kang Arcade Drop Fatality is one of the oldest, most beloved fatality moves in the Mortal Kombat games. It involves Liu Kang inexplicably dropping an original Mortal Kombat arcade system on top of his opponent, crushing their body in a spray of blood and gore. Mortal Kombat 2 would have to find a way to explain him having an arcade system to drop on them, but one easy fix for that would be to give his character a fight in an actual arcade. This would be a great way to honor the original games, so it should definitely be included.

7 Rain’s Eye-Solated Fatality

Rains eye-solated fatality in Mortal Kombat.

Rain’s Eye-Solated Fatality move involves Rain using a circular blade of water to cut his opponent in half horizontally, then vertically, before taking their eyeballs and keeping them inside a dome of water. If Rain became one of Mortal Kombat 2‘s villain additions, this would be a must-have fatality move in the film. It’s one of the most iconic moves in the game, and it would make him an extremely intimidating villain. It would also make for an epic spectacle in the theaters, though to be fair, any of these moves would do that.

6 Ermac’s Inner Workings Fatality

Ermac's inner workings fatality in Mortal Kombat.

Another great addition to Mortal Kombat 2 would be Ermac’s Inner Workings Fatality move, which involves Ermac pulling his opponents intestines out through their mouths. This is another iconic finishing move from the games that would make a jarring spectacle on screen. It’s possible this would be too gratuitous for theaters, but hey, this is Mortal Kombat. Ermac would be a great addition to Mortal Kombat 2‘s cast, and his inclusion would necessitate this iconic move being included as well.

5 Tenshi’s Tele-Copter Fatality

Tenshi's tele-copter fatality move in Mortal Kombat.

Tenshi’s Tele-Copter Fatality move involves Tenshi spinning his sword so fast it sucks his opponent in and shreds their body as they pass through it. This another iconic move from the franchise that would make for a great inclusion in Mortal Kombat 2. Tenshi is also an awesome character who could add a lot to the film if he were included. Tenshi has a few other cool fatality moves, but this one would be the best to include by far.

4 Sub Zero’s Spine Rip Fatality

Sub Zero's spine rip in Mortal Kombat.

If Sub Zero returns somehow for Mortal Kombat 2, his Spine Rip Fatality would be an epic addition to the film. This is easily one of the most iconic moves in the Mortal Kombat franchise. Sub Zero’s Spine Rip involves him grabbing his opponent by the throat, and ripping their head off with the spine still attached, hence the name. There are few fatality moves in Mortal Kombat as gorey and satisfying as the classic spine rip.

3 Kitana’s Royal Execution Fatality

Kitana's royal execuction in Mortal Kombat.

Kitana’s Royal Execution Fatality is when she throws her fans at her opponent with enough velocity to behead and bisect them before she throws a knife through their skull. Using this move would be a great way to show the audience how dangerous Kitana is, and it would look crazy in a theater. Moreover, despite all the blood, this is actually one of the more tame fatality moves in the game, so it would be a great one to include in Mortal Kombat 2.

2 Quan Chi’s On Your Knees Fatality

Quan Chi's on your knees move in Mortal Kombat.

Quan Chi’s On Your Knees Fatality should absolutely be part of Mortal Kombat 2, especially because the character has already been confirmed for the film. With this move, Quan Chi cuts his opponents legs off at the shins then beheads them, catching the head in his hand. This move almost feels like it was made for the movies. It’s easy to imagine this scene playing out on-screen with Quan Chi demanding submission, then forcing it when his opponent refuses.

1 Shao Kahn’s Back Blown Out Fatality

Shao Kahn's back blown out move in Mortal Kombat.

Shao Kahn’s Back Blown Out Fatality move is when Shao Kahn uses his hammer to knock his opponent’s head through their torso so it flies out the middle of their back. Shao Kahn is another confirmed character for Mortal Kombat 2, so this is definitely one that should be included in the movie. This would be an extremely intimidating way to introduce the character and stoke fear in the audience. Shao Kahn shouldn’t have a problem inciting fear, but this move would make certain the audience understands the danger he poses.
