10 Arrowverse Characters Who Could Join The Legends Of Tomorrow

10 Arrowverse Characters Who Could Join The Legends Of Tomorrow

Ever since Legends Of Tomorrow began in 2016, the show’s heroes, who share their name with the series, have been made up of a combination of characters from across the Arrowverse. The original line-up consisted of a group that would never unite under circumstances, which is what made their time on the Waverider so interesting.

In those four years, however, a number of the Legends have departed. Thus, vacancies are not unusual aboard the Waverider. Here are ten characters from across the Arrowverse who could join the Legends of Tomorrow.

Ronnie Raymond/Firestorm

10 Arrowverse Characters Who Could Join The Legends Of Tomorrow

As the original partner to Professor Martin Stein as the superhero Firestorm, Ronnie would have been a candidate to join the Legends had it not been for his untimely death. Had he lived, Ronnie had the potential to be a valuable ally. This was seen when he and Oliver Queen assisted Barry Allen against Eobard Thawne on The Flash.

Legends of Tomorrow, is, first and foremost, a time travel show. While Jefferson Jackson no longer has the Firestorm matrix, a past version of Ronnie would have so the two could become partners. This would allow the character of Firestorm to continue in the Arrowverse while also exploring new interactions through Ronnie.

Jesse Quick

Jesse Quick and her father Harrison “Harry” Wells were recurring characters on The Flash from the second season until recently when their Earth was destroyed in Crisis On Infinite Earths. However, the audience was never shown their bodies which provides hope that they are still alive somehow.

Wally West, Jesse’s ex-boyfriend, joined the Legends during season three. Having a speedster on the team allows for different dynamics and new ways to fight villains. Furthermore, God Friended Me, the show that Jesse’s actress Violett Beane had been starring on was recently canceled, meaning she has new free time to reprise the role.

Hartley Rathaway/Pied Piper

Andy Mientus in The Flash

As shown on The Flash, Hartley was a disgruntled former Star Labs employee who later turned against Harrison Wells (who was Eobard Thawne in disguise). He became the villain Pied Piper and an adversary of Team Flash. However, a timeline change from Barry Allen meant that he was now allied with the Scarlet Speedster.

Changes in Crisis put Hartley back to his old villainous ways. However, someone redeeming themselves and becoming a better person as a Legend is not unheard of, with Captain Cold and Heat Wave as examples. The Waverider’s occupants are usually wayward and Hartley fits that bill.

Allegra Garcia

Allegra Garcia helps the team on The Flash

Allegra Garcia was introduced in the sixth season of The Flash. After a tumultuous start, she later became an employee of Iris West-Allen at The Central City Citizen. Her doppelganger Maya’s connection with Harrison “Nash” Wells has also been explored.

As shown on The Flash, Allegra has metahuman abilities in electromagnetic manipulation. This could be a useful asset in combat for the Legends. Additionally, Team Flash is starting to get crowded, with the existing members as well as the recent promotions of Brandon McKnight (Chester) and Kayla Compton (Allegra) to series regulars.

Ryan Choi

Ryan Choi, a non-metahuman individual, appeared in the recent Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover event. He was one of seven Paragons, alongside heroes such as Supergirl, The Flash and Batwoman, to fight against the Anti-Monitor. Previously, Ryan was referenced on The Flash as a future creator of a Flash suit.

In DC Comics, Ryan Choi is the second person to hold the mantle of The Atom, after Ray Palmer. On Legends of Tomorrow, actor Brandon Routh, who plays Ray, is leaving the series. This means that there is an open spot for Ryan, who had previously expressed admiration for Ray Palmer, to take his place.

Frost

From the beginning of her existence, Frost (formerly known as Killer Frost) has been an alternate personality in the subconsciousness of Dr. Caitlin Snow, a member of Team Flash. She has evolved from being a selfish villain to a hero and an active member of the team. Especially in season six of The Flash, Frost has experienced immense growth.

Although they share a body, Frost and Caitlin are very different characters. In particular, Frost has shown how different of a person she is and has had separate storylines. Finding some way to separate the two and putting Frost (and her powers) on Legends of Tomorrow could give her a chance to shine.

Jay Garrick/The Flash

The veteran speedster from Earth 3 and mentor to Barry Allen, Jay has appeared since the season two finale of The Flash. He is played by John Wesley Shipp, who had previously played Barry Allen/The Flash on the short-lived 1990-1991 television series as well as other notable roles, such as Mitch Leery on Dawson’s Creek

Since Martin Stein departed from Legends, the team has missed the presence of an old, somewhat fatherly figure to impart advice. Shipp’s time being on a superhero show decades ago as well as the experience of his character could help fill that void. Furthermore, it would allow Shipp, who has been in the Arrowverse since 2014, to be a series regular on one of the shows.

Nora West-Allen/ XS

Nora West-Allen

Nora West-Allen was the daughter of Barry Allen and Iris West-Allen from three decades in the future. The speedster, also known as XS, appeared in the fourth season of The Flash as an unidentified woman. She was identified and made a series regular for season five.

Considering Nora’s time-traveling antics, this would make her a perfect fit for the Legends. It can be said that Nora’s fate in the conclusion of The Flash season five may present an obstacle. However, no one is ever really gone on these shows.

Ralph Dibny/Elongated Man

Ralph Dibny

Former Police Detective and now Private Investigator, Ralph has been a regular presence on The Flash since season four. While he initially held a grudge against Barry Allen for costing him his job at CCPD, the two eventually reconciled their differences. Ralph gained metahuman powers and joined Team Flash as Elongated Man.

However, the show is called The Flash and not The Elongated Man. There are already heroes, such as Flash, Frost and longer ago, Vibe, that overshadow Ralph. It may be a good idea to follow in Wally’s footsteps and join the Legends.

Clark Kent/Superman (Earth-96)

Years before Brandon Routh played Ray Palmer/The Atom on Legends of Tomorrow, he portrayed another DC Comics hero; Clark Kent/Superman in 2006’s Superman Returns. Thirteen years later, Routh reprised the role for the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event. It was shown – spoiler alert – that he had survived the events of Crisis.

Routh exited the role of Ray Palmer Legends Of Tomorrow during season five. However, he has made no secret of the fact that it was not his choice to leave. Introducing Earth-96 Clark Kent would not only bring an iconic character to Legends but also keep Routh on the show in a new, interesting way.
