10 Ahsoka Characters Who Can Return In The Mandalorian Season 4 (& How They Can Come Back)

10 Ahsoka Characters Who Can Return In The Mandalorian Season 4 (& How They Can Come Back)

The live-action “MandoVerse” Star Wars TV shows have crossed over multiple times, and with Ahsoka season 1 at an end, several characters have been set up to return in The Mandalorian season 4. Even though each show has a separate plot, The Mandalorian and Ahsoka both feature the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant, so the events of one show often have consequences in the other. With Dave Filoni’s The Mandalorian Star Wars movie set to bring the MandoVerse to a close, it makes sense for Ahsoka‘s characters to appear in The Mandalorian season 4.

The Mandalorian season 4 may pick up right where Ahsoka season 1 left off, with Din Djarin working with the New Republic ahead of Grand Admiral Thrawn’s invasion. On the other hand, The Mandalorian could return to focusing on Din Djarin and Grogu’s adventures, working in the Ahsoka characters the way The Mandalorian season 2 integrated existing Star Wars characters. Either way, 10 Ahsoka characters can return in The Mandalorian season 4, and there are several options for how they will appear.

How To Watch Star Wars Movies In Order

Here is how to watch all Star Wars movies and TV shows, both chronologically and by release date, and how the Star Wars timeline works.

10 Hera Syndulla

The New Republic’s best General

The first character who can return in The Mandalorian season 4 is Hera Syndulla, as she was the last one shown in the Star Wars galaxy at the end of Ahsoka season 1. The Mandalorian season 3 ended with Din Djarin agreeing to work for the New Republic through Captain Carson Teva, who worked with Hera throughout Ahsoka. This would be the most natural way for Hera to appear in The Mandalorian, having Carson hire Din Djarin for a secret mission. The Mandalorian could also have another New Republic episode that didn’t feature Din Djarin, but after the reception to The Mandalorian season 3, this wouldn’t be the best option.

9 Jacen Syndulla

Hera’s son and potential Jedi candidate

If Hera returns in The Mandalorian season 4, her son Jacen Syndulla won’t be far behind. This would be an opportunity for The Mandalorian to return to Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Academy, as Jacen expressed his desire to become a Jedi in Ahsoka season 1. Hera knew Luke during the Galactic Civil War, so she could recruit him to help fight Thrawn and the Imperial Remnant, bringing her son to meet a Jedi Master. It would also make sense for her to recruit Din Djarin since Grogu was Luke’s student, allowing the Force-sensitive kids to interact while the parents convince Luke to help the New Republic.

8 Chopper

Always with Hera or Jacen

Chopper is Hera’s droid and Jacen’s best friend, guaranteeing his appearance alongside them. If Chopper went with them to Luke’s Jedi Temple, he could interact with R2-D2 again after their first meeting in Star Wars Rebels, which would be thoroughly entertaining since they never got along. It would also be interesting to see how Din Djarin, who generally doesn’t mesh well with droids, reacts to an astromech with Chopper’s personality.

7 C-3PO

Speaks to the New Republic council when Leia is unavailable

C-3PO in Ahsoka episode 7

If Chopper and R2-D2 have a scene together, then C-3PO should also appear. The dynamic between the three droids was hilarious in Star Wars Rebels, and having the same voice actors means it would translate perfectly in live-action. C-3PO spoke on Leia Organa’s behalf in Ahsoka season 1, so if the characters went to see Luke, it could lead to an onscreen reunion between the Skywalker siblings.

6 Ezra Bridger

Finally home after almost 10 years

Having made it back to the Star Wars galaxy after nearly a decade in exile, there are several ways for Ezra Bridger to return in The Mandalorian season 4. Hera will be hesitant to let Ezra leave her side after losing him once, and since Zeb Orelios works with Carson Teva, this could lead to another Ghost crew reunion. Ezra would also get to meet his Kanan Jarrus’ son for the first time, and if Jacen went to meet Luke, it would be a long-awaited meeting of several Jedi characters.

5 Grand Admiral Thrawn

The new leader of the Imperial Remnant

While most of Thrawn’s actions will probably be saved for The Mandalorian movie, The Mandalorian season 4 could still set up his campaign against the New Republic. The Mandalorian season 3 ended with the Imperial Shadow Council impatiently awaiting Thrawn’s return as Captain Pellaeon insisted he spoke on the Grand Admiral’s behalf. Thrawn can now take control of the Imperial Remnant, with the threat of his imminent attack on the New Republic causing characters from The Mandalorian and Ahsoka to work together.

4 Admiral Ackbar

The New Republic’s best military leader

Admiral Ackbar - Star Wars Return of the Jedi

Admiral Ackbar only appeared briefly in Ahsoka season 1, but The Mandalorian season 4 could give him a more significant role. With an upcoming war against the Imperial Remnant, Ackbar would be the ideal choice to plan the New Republic’s strategy, as he did in the Star Wars Legends continuity. Ackbar could even lead the first battle against Thrawn’s forces, kicking off a full-scale conflict that would continue in The Mandalorian movie.

3 Mon Mothma

The leader of the New Republic

With so many New Republic characters who can return in The Mandalorian season 4, it only makes sense for Mon Mothma to appear. The Mandalorian season 3 and Ahsoka season 1 focused on the New Republic’s corruption and ineffectiveness, which The Mandalorian season 4 can explore further through Mon Mothma. It would be fascinating to see Din Djarin interact with the leader of a New Republic that he considered “a joke” since The Mandalorian‘s first episode.

2 Hamato Xiono

A rival for Din Djarin (and everyone else)

Senator Xiono in Ahsoka Episode 7

It would also be entertaining to see Din Djarin interact with Senator Hamato Xiono, who served as a rival to Hera in Ahsoka season 1. Xiono represents everything that Din Djarin and many other Mandalorian characters hate about the New Republic, and he wouldn’t be happy to learn that Carson Teva hired a bounty hunter who freed a prisoner from New Republic transport. This could push Mandalore and other neutral systems into conflict with the New Republic, dividing the galaxy and making Thrawn’s invasion more devastating.

1 Captain Rex

An old but experienced ally

Like Admiral Ackbar, Captain Rex only appeared briefly in Ahsoka season 1, but his return would work perfectly in The Mandalorian season 4. With an impending war against the Imperial Remnant and the return of other characters from Ahsoka, it would make sense for Hera to recruit him. Rex would be devastated to learn that Ahsoka is trapped on Peridea, giving him a personal stake in the conflict while fully incorporating him into live-action. While some Ahsoka characters may be saved for the Mandoverse’s big screen outing, their return would be a welcome addition to The Mandalorian season 4.
