1 Minor Frozen Character Connects Disney’s Movie To Another Billion Animated Hit

Frozen is full of iconic characters, but many don’t know that one minor character from the film actuall connects Disney’s movie to another $1 billion animated hit. Disney’s catalogue features all kinds of animated classics, with many of these movies becoming some of the most famous films of all time. Because of this, there are often plenty of references to Disney films in thier other movies, and Frozen is no exception.

Walt Disney Animation Studios is the branch of Disney behind some of the company’s most popular films, like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and more. The studio entered a second renaissance starting in 2009 with The Princess and the Frog, and while the studio released hit after hit during this period, none matched up to the success of Frozen. Frozen became a staple of Disney, with many other movies referencing the instant classic, including one of Disney’s $1 billion hits.

Alan Tudyk’s Frozen & Zootopia Characters Are Connected

1 Minor Frozen Character Connects Disney’s Movie To Another Billion Animated Hit

Alan Tudyk plays a character in Frozen, and as it turns out, this character is also connected to Tudyk’s character in Zootopia. In Frozen, Tudyk plays the Duke of Weselton, a minor antagonist who orders his bodyguards to capture Elsa. The Duke of Weselton is one of Alan Tudyk’s funniest Disney roles, with the minor character standing out as a highlight of Frozen.

Alan Tudyk also has a role in Zootopia, with him playing a thieving weasel who pariticpates in a chase with Judy Hopps. This character’s name is Duke Weaselton, with this clearly being a nod to Tudyk’s Frozen character. Although the roles of Duke and The Duke are completely different in their respective films, it is a fun connection between Zootopia and Frozen.

Frozen 3: Confirmation, Cast, Story & Everything We Know

Frozen 2 leaves its ending wide open for more Anna and Elsa adventures. Here’s what we know so far about Frozen 3’s possible release date and story.

Zootopia Is Packed With Frozen References & Easter Eggs

As it turns out, Zootopia is packed with Frozen references and Easter eggs, with several background gags referencing Disney’s smash hit movie. Duke Weaselton is the most obvious one, but there are several others, including two elephants dressed as Anna and Elsa. On top of that, a pastry shop is named after Hans, and a character even references Frozen‘s iconic song “Let It Go.”

Disney movies have always been full of references and Easter eggs to other Disney movies, meaning that it would be expected for Frozen gags to pop up in other films. It makes even more sense for Zootopia to pull this off, as it was released in the immediate aftermath of Frozen‘s massive success. While other Disney movies have referenced Frozen since, Zootopia seems to have done it the most.
