1 Line In My Life With The Walter Boys Proves Why Alex And Kiley Are Endgame

Alex Walter has a complex storyline in season 1 of My Life with the Walter Boys, and, although he dates Jackie, one of his lines in the show proves his endgame is Kiley. Based on the novel by Ali Novak, the Netflix series follows Jackie as she moves to a small town in Colorado and gets caught up in a love triangle with two brothers, Alex and Cole. Although Jackie and Alex date for most of season 1, there are many hints that Jackie isn’t Alex’s romantic endgame.

Throughout season 1, Alex struggles to come to terms that he is not like his brother Cole, and one of the ways he wants to prove that is by dating Jackie. My Life with the Walter Boys season 1’s ending leaves the love triangle unresolved, and although Jackie and Alex are still dating, she kisses Cole. Alex confesses his love for Jackie in the season 1 finale, and while this ending differs from the My Life with the Walter Boys book, one of his lines from a previous episode proves she is not the one for him, and that he will ultimately wind up with his best friend, Kiley.

Ashby Gentry's Alex talking to Paige (Madison Brydges) in My Life with the Walter Boys episode 9

In My Life with the Walter Boys season 1, Alex is dating Jackie, but his endgame is Kiley, and the show proves it. Alex spends the entire season trying to prove that he’s better than Cole and that he won over Jackie. His insecurities stem from the fact that Cole previously stole his ex-girlfriend, Paige, putting a strain on their already complicated relationship. Because Alex spends most of the season hurting and trying to hurt Cole in return, one particular line proves his best friend Kiley is his endgame.

In episode 9, “Revolutions,” Alex finally faces Cole after his rein breaks during the rodeo, and the two finally have an open and honest conversation. Because of that, Alex starts showing that he is healing and that he’s grown. Later that night, he approaches Paige, who cheated on him, telling her, “I am somebody, and you missed out.” That line proves his endgame is not Jackie, but Kiley, who has been his friend since kindergarten, is always there for him, sees him for who he is, and supports him all his life.

Why Alex & Kiley Didn’t Get Together In My Life With The Walter Boys Season 1

Alex and Kiley’s becoming lovers from friends prove they’re endgame

Alex and Kiley didn’t become a couple in My Life with the Walter Boys season 1, but all the signs are there that they will get together. They have been friends for years, and Alex insists that’s all they are, but Kiley openly pines over Alex, he just never figures it out. In the finale, they share an unexpected romantic moment, showing the chemistry was there before he told her that she was cool, but “practically a dude.” However, that only shows that Alex might be afraid to want something for himself that Cole doesn’t want. Otherwise, My Life with the Walter Boys appears to be setting up Alex and Kiley as endgame.
